School Closure

If school should need to close, we will be using Tapestry (in YR) and Class Dojo to set and receive daily work. Please see our Remote learning plan for details.  Ideas for additional home learning can also be found on the class pages below and on the Oak Academy website.

Staff have chosen websites that have good activities on them and also put on some worksheets that children can work on at home, as well as project ideas and shorter tasks.  There is also information on our class pages too. We understand that home learning can be very difficult depending on family circumstances and are always available to listen and offer help or advice. Get in touch if things are tricky and we'll do our very best to make things easier.

A household charts are a useful way of managing learning at home and you can find a good example here.  We've seen ideas on Facebook where families are making daily timetables that pinpoint times for learning, for play, for eating, for choring, for creative activities and exercise.  This type of thing will help give days some purpose and prevent boredom.

First News (an excellent online and print newspaper written for children) are offering a free edition about the current virus and the government advice. It would be particularly appropriate to be shared with upper KS2. Click here to download.

If you need to contact us while school is closed, please use the letters@ email as usual.

We will be checking it regularly.  Please don't hesitate to get in touch with any issue, large or small. Please stay safe and healthy and let us know if you need anything.

Please also see our Safeguarding arrangements for school closure here and on the Safeguarding page of our website.

Our school Remote Learning Lead is Debs Morris - she can be contacted via the school email address.
