an academy in the Good Shepherd Trust
Since September 2014 children have enjoyed a Forest School experience each term with their class. Mr Milam, who after volunteering in the school initially, is now our Forest School instructor.
Forest School offers a unique approach to teaching using the outdoors as a learning environment. It's main aim is to promote self-confidence, motivation and awareness as well as good communication, social and emotional skills. The positivity felt by the children at Forest School promotes a positive attitude to learning within the classroom setting. In addition, technical skills (often using tools) and a greater understanding of our natural environment are developed as well.
Year 3/4 are building a longboat.
Year 1 have been exploring spider webs and animal homes.
